What is composite bonding?
The dentist will place real tooth-coloured resin on top and between your teeth, fixing your smile in just one appointment so that you can enjoy a brighter, more polished smile almost immediately.
Why have composite bonding?
We know there’s a lot to think about so we’ve highlighted some of the main reasons you may want to consider composite bonding:
- It fixes imperfections such as cavities, cracked or chipped teeth, discolouration or staining, gaps between your teeth, misshapen teeth, long or short teeth and damaged roots.
- It can give you a natural-looking smile in as little as one hour.
- It’s safe and doesn’t use harmful chemicals that could damage your mouth, teeth, or body.
- It’s non-invasive, painless and requires minimal preparation.
- It can last between 5 to 10 years.
- It’s affordable and cost-effective.
Benefits of composite bonding
- It’s a pain-free, non-invasive cosmetic dentistry treatment.
- You’ll have your brand new smile in just one appointment.
- It’s more affordable than crowns or dental veneers.
- You’ll hide any tooth imperfections fast.
Your composite bonding journey
When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed by our friendly reception team and then invited to take a seat. When your dentist is ready for you, you will be invited into their surgery and they will explain what you can expect during treatment, making sure you are completely happy before they start.
Firstly, your dentist may give you a local anaesthetic then place a thin sheet of rubber over your mouth to keep your tooth dry and isolate it from the rest of your teeth.
Next, they’ll thoroughly clean your tooth, removing all decay, food debris and tartar then apply a type of glue that helps ensure your tooth restoration bonds correctly. The composite will be placed on your tooth in thin layers to create your desired shape and set using a specially designed UV light.
Once we are completely satisfied that your composite bonding meets our high standards, we will polish it to perfection to finish off your beautiful new smile.
